DIE ZEIT X PB 0110

I wish you or your mother a happy Mother's Day.
On this beautiful occasion, we are pleased to present a new project with one of the 'mothers' of the German newspaper landscape 'DIE ZEIT'. She is celebrating her 75th birthday this year and the idea to design a bag for this occasion came up in a personal conversation with the publisher. They wanted to create something generous, gender-neutral, accessible in price and of good quality. We imagined a bag for a market situation. A bag that has space for the medium, of course, but also for carrying everyday things.

The handles, shoulder strap and front pocket are made of vegetable tanned leather that will age nicely over time. For the body we use a 14oz waxed cotton, woven in an English weaving mill that has been producing excellent and durable outerwear fabrics since 1880. The design of the bag is by Munich-based designer and artist Ayzit Bostan. The logo was designed by the art director of Zeit magazine Mirko Borsche. And the production takes place in a family business in Poland. A real collaboration of many, like in a publishing house.

Kindest,
Philipp Bree
